New minimum wage to be effective August 30
As previously announced, The Ohio State University is implementing a $15 per hour minimum wage for qualifying staff members in non-bargaining units. The new minimum wage is effective August 30, 2020. The first paychecks to reflect the new minimum wage will be September 25, 2020. Eligible staff employees who are currently paid below $15 per hour will receive a pay adjustment to $15 per hour. In addition, an adjustment will increase the pay of employees who are currently paid $15-$15.99 per hour to a new hourly wage of $16 in recognition of their skills and experience relative to staff moving to the new minimum.
What you need to do:
Ensure your eligible employees are aware of the new minimum wage prior to September 18, 2020, when the new wages will be visible on pay stubs.
